After class today we found a usb stick forgotten by a student. To find out who it was, we checked the stick. Most of the time they have their resumes on it. There wasn’t a resume. There was however, a document in which he described and planned his burial wishes in detail, followed by the funeral plans for his parents, who are both still alive and well.

I am worried. Am I overreacting?

I don’t think you’re overreacting. It’s probably nothing, an excercise in preparedness. But if it’s not… better safe than sorry, yes? If you have their name, I’d track them down and mention that you found it, that you checked to see whose it was, and that you were concerned. Worst that happens is they get a bit miffed that you were prying into their business. In the best case, you proved that someone does care what happens.

Aaaah… no. Judging by the contents of that document that is definitelly NOT the worst thing that can happen.

P.S. Give it to the prof and let the school deal with it.
